Day 07: Lose 10 pounds in a week? I did!

Weight: 229.4 lbs (28.7% body fat)
Weight Change: -10.7 lbs (1.3% body fat)

Today I awoke after 6 hours of sleep, feeling pretty rested but with low energy. I couldn't bring myself to eat or drink anything but water for hours. The idea of eating another banana, or anything really, made me nauseous. But in more positive news, I'VE LOST TEN POUNDS IN A WEEK! By Odin's beard, that's exciting. If you told me I could lose 10 lbs in 1 week on a raw diet, I would have said you were crazy. My goal has been to take weight off slowly (about 2 lbs a week is healthy, I'm told) but the rapid loss is probably because I stopped drinking alcohol. So I'll take it.

Around 1pm I decided I should force food on myself, since I had to bicycle downtown later.

I needed something to snack on, so last night I made some Zucchini Chips in the dehydrator. They are delicious and crazy easy to make!

Johnny's Homemade Zucchini Chips w/ Garlic, Cayenne, and Wasabi!


Johnny's Homemade Garlic/Cayenne Zucchini Chips Recipe:

  1. Wash and scrub 1 large Zucchini and chop into discs as thick as you like.
  2. Place on dehydrator tray and spoon on garlic on some, cayenne on some, and wasabi on some. Or combine some flavour combo you like. Next time I want to try dill.
  3. Dehydrate for 12 hours, or until desired crispiness.
  4. Enjoy!


BREAKFAST (1PM):
  • Juice (3 Oranges, Ginger, Lime)
  • Banana

LUNCH (6PM):
  • 6pcs Salmon Sashimi (Ginger, Wasabi, Soy Sauce - No, I never get tired of this!)

DINNER(8PM):
  • Dinner was replaced by a nap. Oh noes!

SNACKS:
  • Bananas
  • Johnny's Homemade Garlic/Cayenne Zucchini Chips, and Wasabi Zucchini Chips (Mmm!)
  • Fruit Salad (Watermelon, Banana, Raisins, Apple, Tangelo)

EXERCISE:
  • Winter Biking (35.5km)
Right now, to celebrate my weight loss and for sticking to the raw diet for a whole week, I'm making a raw vegan dessert that should feel like I'm cheating on my diet. More details (with photos) of my SUPER SECRET DESSERT tomorrow!

  1. You seem to be eating a lot of bananas... I hope you're drinking enough water so you don't get all banana-clogged up :)

  2. Ewww. I don't note it (maybe I should) but every time I sit down to eat something I drink a pint of water. I usually drink 7-8 pints a day on top of the juicing that I do.
